City of Hurstbourne Acres

The Ad VALORUM Rate

On all real and Personal Property

            Whereas, the Mayor and the Commission of the City of Hurstbourne Acres,

             Kentucky, have the authority pursuant to enact Ordinances relating to the

             City and

 

             Whereas, it is required that the Ad VOLARUM rate be established and levied for

              the year July 1, 2006 though June 30, 2007, on all real and personal property,

              for the general operating purposes of the City to cover fiscal year July 1, 2006

              through June 30, 2007.

 

 BE IT ORDAINED THAT

 

Section 1.  January 1, 2006 is hereby set as the assessment date for all real and personal property subject to city taxation within the boundaries of the City of Hurstbourne Acres, Kentucky.

 

Section 2.  The City Clerk and Treasurer are directed to obtain a true copy of the assessment of property within the corporate limits of the City of Hurstbourne Acres, Kentucky and to make out tax bills and mail same.  Each tax bill shall show the property and improvements thereon separately, the name of the supposed owners and the ad volarum rate and the tax due for the fiscal year.

 

Section 3.  Upon delivery of such bills, the Treasurer shall have the responsibility of supervising the collection of same, and all the remittances shall be made to the City Treasurer, as required by law.  Collection of Delinquent Taxes shall be made in the manner prescribed by law.

 

Section 4.  The Ad Valorum rate for this year is fixed at $.16 per One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) valuation of property assessed for taxation.  Such taxes shall be due as follows:

Discount of 1% if paid on or before July 31, 2006

Net Bill if paid during August and September 2006

Penalty if paid during October 2006-5% (Five per cent)

Penalty if paid during November 2006 6% (Six percent)

After November 30, 2006-6% penalty plus 1% interest per month until paid.  Penalties are cumulative.  If a suit is initiated, then the taxpayer shall pay court cost and reasonable attorney fees.

 

Section 5.  The tax payment shall be made as follows:

                      Mailed to:  City of Hurstbourne Acres

                                     PO Box 24004

                                     Louisville, Ky 40224

 

Section 6.  The proceeds of this tax are to be used as follows:  $0.16 per One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) of valuation, being the entire amount of said tax, plus interest on penalties collected thereon, for the general operation of the City.

 

This Ordinance shall become effective upon its passage and publication.
